Research profile
Michael's fields of interest are experimental mechanics, optical measurement methods, and programming. He is also interested in numerical modeling of complex geological structures, mainly simulation of caldera collapse modes, including implementation of material models, and modeling of discrete fracture networks.
Academic profile
Michael earned his B.Sc. (2010) and M.Sc. (2012) in Civil Engineering (Building Structures) from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU in Prague. During his studies, he received five Dean's Awards (2006–2011) for outstanding academic performance and placed second in an international student scientific competition (2011, Košice). He completed his Ph.D. in Physical and Material Engineering at FCE, CTU in Prague under Petr Kabele and is now a postdoctoral fellow in the Open Mechanics Group.
